Google Publishes New AI Tools for Science: Co-Scientist Multi-Agent System, AlphaEvolve GA, Empirical Research Assistance on Google Labs

Google published New AI Tools for the Future of Science including Co-Scientist, AlphaEvolve, and Empirical Research Assistance. Co-Scientist is a multi-agent AI system built with Gemini that iteratively generates, debates, and evolves novel hypotheses for complex scientific problems, published in Nature. AlphaEvolve moved from private preview to general availability on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform as an API any Google Cloud customer can call, using evolutionary code optimization. Empirical Research Assistance helps researchers design experiments. Google Cloud also has a managed distillation service page describing use of Gemini 3.1 Pro outputs and reasoning patterns to train custom Gemini 2.5 Flash models. These tools are built on Co-Scientist, AlphaEvolve, Empirical Research Assistance, and NotebookLM platforms.
