Ericsson Deploys World-First MOCN for Vodafone-Three UK: 28.6M Customers Auto-Connecting, 16,500km2 Not Spots Eliminated, 50M Access Fastest 5G
内容摘要
Ericsson deployed Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) technology for the merged Vodafone and Three UK operator, the first national-scale integration of core and radio sharing over a multi-vendor 4G and 5G network. Up to 28.6 million Vodafone and Three customers now automatically connect to the best available coverage, eliminating 16,500km2 of mobile not spots. Up to 50 million people (71% of UK population) can access the operators fastest 5G speeds through shared C-band spectrum (3.4-3.8 GHz). The deployment spans 10,000+ sites across the UK. The operator is investing 11 billion pounds to build UKs best network, with Ericsson as key strategic build partner delivering next-generation RAN and core solutions. 5G Standalone coverage target: 99% population by 2030, 99.96% by 2034. Three UK customers saw 4G speeds boosted by average 20%.
