AMD Refocuses Vitis Acceleration Strategy on IP Library and Platform Support

AMD's Vitis Acceleration Library 2025.2 update introduces the Vitis IP Library as an extension, offering performance-optimized IPs across multiple domains that integrate with Vivado Design Suite and Vitis libraries to accelerate application development. Some PL libraries (e.g., codec, data analysis, compression, graph computing, HPC, quantitative finance, sparse computing) will be discontinued but remain usable in earlier versions. Support for Alveo U200, U250, and U280 platforms is ended, with users advised to transition to U50, U50LV, and U55C platforms. The library supports deployment on AMD platforms from edge to cloud, enabling rapid prototyping and custom accelerator design, and can integrate with Vitis AI for deep learning acceleration.
